Who We Are
At Cape & Cowl Media, not only do we know how to make damn good nonfiction books, but we also know how to have a damn good time doing it. After all, anyone can toss off a few ideas and publish their book online. But what’s the fun in that?
Your book isn’t just a book. It’s a collection of your lifetime body of work. It’s a living document filled with your unique perspective and experience. It’s a gateway to new career paths, product ideas, and business opportunities. It’s a timeless representation of what makes you, well, you.
In other words, your book matters. That’s why writing it shouldn’t be a chore. It should be an adventure.
Of course, like all good adventures, a great book doesn’t magically appear overnight. It takes care and attention. It takes an expert hand to draw out your best ideas and show your readers why they matter. Above all, it takes absolute commitment to creating the best book you can make.
This is your hero’s journey. For those brave enough to take it, the rewards can be tremendous. Authors we have worked with have:
Become Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and Amazon best-sellers,
Generated six- and seven-figure business opportunities directly attributable to their book,
Secured book deals with major publishers,
Sold thousands of copies and earned thousands of Amazon reviews, and
More importantly, these books have greatly impacted their readers’ lives—creating smarter people and building stronger communities.
CHAS Hoppe
Not that he would brag about it or anything, but Chas Hoppe won the 1994 D.A.R.E. Award for best essay when he was in sixth grade. Having peaked early, Chas then dedicated his career to helping nonfiction authors share their message and grow their communities. In over fifteen years in publishing, Chas has ghostwritten over 40 books, edited over 100 books, and coached hundreds of authors on their book-writing journeys.
AMANDA Hoppe
Amanda Hoppe won the 1993 D.A.R.E. Award for best essay when she was in the fifth grade. Three years before that, she won her Catholic school’s short story contest with A Charlie Brown Christmas meets The Usual Suspects mashup. Not that anyone’s competing, but that’s more literary accolades than Chas. Amanda joined the publishing world after teaching thousands of students how to turn their ideas into compelling writing as a college composition and literature professor. When not collaborating with an eclectic mix of authors—from brave mothers to Navy SEALs to dentists and everything in between—she can be found at a barn helping youths and veterans build resilience and heal trauma through the power of horses and miscellaneous feral cats.
